    ASA Championship Meet Details

    Team Check In

Please arrive at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center at 750 Ferst Drive, Atlanta, Georgia at 2:10 PM. We will not check in for the meet until all our swimmers have arrived. We will enter the pool at 2:25 PM with warmups beginning at 2:55 PM. Please meet in the grassy area to the left of the front entrance by the bench of the Campus Recreation Center. Please see the map attached here.

Once everyone has arrived, we will check in at the front entrance of the Campus Recreation Center on Ferst Drive and then we will walk to our designated team area. All swimmers will sit together in section 201, Rows A-C. Parents can sit in the spectator area. Also, no coolers are allowed inside the recreation center. I’d recommend bringing water bottles and any snacks your child wants in their swim bag.

Please write your child’s name, age, and team on their backs and their events on their arm or leg.

The only individuals allowed on deck will be participants, coaches, meet volunteers (WE NEED 4 VOLUNTEERS), and credentialed meet officials. Access to the deck will be monitored by meet workers and security. Please help us police this policy. Persons caught trying to pass their credential to an unauthorized person will be subject to ejection from the facility.

    PARKING

You must purchase a prepaid parking pass. Prepaid parking will be available in the W10 parking deck that is adjacent to the CRC. To park in this deck, you must prebuy a parking pass, you cannot pay at the gate. To prepurchase parking please visit https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events . Parking costs will be between $12-15. Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. These are relatively short walks from the pool. A map of the area can be found at Georgia Tech General Parking Map and ASA Parking Diagram and Map Please plan accordingly.

Please don’t park anywhere else, unless you want your car ticketed, booted or towed. Due to construction around campus please try to carpool to alleviate congestion. Teams, please be advised that barring a miracle, traffic is still bad in Atlanta. Please advise your swimmers and families to build in a little extra time to account for any delays.

    Order of Events

Just a quick reminder, during our championship we swim a different order of events than your regular dual meets. The heat sheet is attached. The order is as follows:

Order of events for ASA Championship

1.6 & Under Free Relays - All 6 & Unders should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming their relays to get lined up for their freestyle swim.

    2.All Medley Relays

3.6& Under 25 Free - All 6 & Unders swimming the backstroke should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming freestyle to get lined up for their backstroke swim.

    4.All Remaining Freestyle Relay Events

5.6 & Under Backstroke - After this event the 6 & Unders are done swimming.

6.All Remaining individual events (Short Free, Long Free, Back, IM, Breast, Fly)

    Pool Usage and Lane Numbering

Don't forget the boys will swim their events in the pool located nearest to the main big scoreboard, the one on the left as you face the pool from the spectator gallery). The girls will swim their events in the pool located closest to the diving well.

Don't forget, the lane numbers at Georgia Tech are from 0 through 9 (not 1 through 10). Lane 0 is located closest to the window side of the pool, lane 9 is located near the spectator seating. For an overview of the pool deck please see GT Pool Diagram . I hope this info helps.

    Volunteers

We will need 4 volunteers to help with the meet. One will be the runner and the other will work in the girls’ bullpen. The runner will need to meet in the timing room at 3:40 PM. The bullpen worker will need to report to the girls’ bullpen at 3:30 PM. Please let us know if you are willing to help. We can split our helpers into two sessions and can pass off credentials halfway through the meet.

Please let us know if you have any questions!  We are taking a much larger group this year than years past, so this should be fun!
