Coaches and Practice Updates
Good afternoon Eaglerays!
This is Caitlyn Pallas, and I am going to be your head coach for the 2019 Summer League Season. I apologize for the long email, but PLEASE read all it for there is a lot of important information! Here is a little bit about myself: I am a current second-year at the University of Georgia, and I am studying Classics and Anthropology. This will be my fourth year working with the Eagle-watch Eagleray swim team, and it will be my second year as the head coach. I swam for 9 years previous to this with the Chattahoochee Gold swim team, and my favorite stroke is backstroke! I will be working with Lilly Zamorano, Katie Thrift, and Kat Kochansky this season, and we are all very excited! Here is some quick information about our coaches:
1. Lilly Zamorano- Hey y’all! My name is Lilly Zamorano. I have been a coach for the Eaglerays for a couple years now, and I am so excited for another season. I am 18 years old and about to graduate high school!!! (yay!) I’ve first dipped my toes into the pool at the innocent age of 6, when I first started with the Eaglerays, and I have been swimming for my club team and the Eaglerays ever since. This will be my 13th season with the mighty Eaglerays. My favorite stroke is Freestyle! Looking forward to seeing all of you soon💕 Go Eaglerays! Email- [email protected]
2. Katie Thrift- Hi everyone! My name is Katie Thrift. I am 17 years old, and I graduating this year from Woodstock High-School. I swam for 11 years with a club swim team. I have spent one year shadowing and two years coaching with the Deer Run Dolphins. My best stroke is Butterfly!
3. Kat Kochansky- Hi everyone! My name is Kat Kochansky. I’m 16 and I’ll be a junior at Etowah next year. I’ve been swimming summer league since I was 4, and I have 6 years of experience on Chattahoochee Gold’s sectional/sectional advanced/senior teams. My favorite stroke is butterfly! Email- [email protected]
Our first day of practice is Monday May 6th, and we will be doing a dryland practice! Please have your child(ren) bring a WATER BOTTLE and TOWEL (no bathing suit, and they can wear normal "PE" clothes and tennis shoes). It is going to be very hot, and I want to make sure that we get the best out of our swimmers. Additionally, it would be a good idea to have them wear SUNSCREEN. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.
There have been some PRACTICE TIME CHANGES. The first group (8 and under) will be practicing from 3:30-4:30 pm. The first group's practice was moved up half an hour so there is a little more time to get your swimmer(s) to practice from school. The other two groups practices are at NORMAL TIMES: 15 and up are from 4-5pm, 9-14 are at 5-6pm. Additionally, the University of Georgia finals continue until May 8th. My last final will be Tuesday May 7th. Therefore, I WILL NOT be at practices the first two days. But, we have three other coaches who are awesome and very capable, so your swimmer(s) are in good hands.
Additionally WE WILL NOT HAVE PRACTICE MEMORIAL DAY AND THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. This will be May 27th and May 29th respectively. Thus, the last day of afternoon practices will be May 28th.
Thank you Parents, I apologize for this is a lot of information. But it is important, so please make sure to read it all. Once again, I will be unable to attend the first two practices (May 6th and May 7th). But do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other coaches. I am looking forward to this season, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
